This is much more interesting than working…
June 2012
…an alternate route home from work tonight, stopped at the 24 hour drug store for some cold medicine.
There are very clearly many impaired drivers on the road tonight. Weaving in and out of traffic, speeding up and breaking randomly.
What the hell is wrong with people?
raiselm replied to your post: An island…
If we promise to be very very quiet can we come?
I don’t know, but if you promise to be vewwy vewwy quite, we can hunt wabbits.
It is wabbit season, isn’t it?
…I want to be on an island right now,
Far away.
KS and the kids can come.
But no other people please.
Just a bit of peace, and no people to bother me.
…I don’t get why what we call universal healthcare is such a hot button in the states. I know that the political polarization there has gotten a lot worse, but surely each side only has the best interests of the people at heart?
Is that naive of me?
What’s the argument against keeping people healthy?
I understand nobody wants the government in their pocket or in their business, but don’t we have a responsibility to each other? Shouldn’t we?
Maybe its because I’m sitting here with a wicked head cold, and I’m a bit fuzzy headed from the cold meds, but I’m struggling with this, and seeing all those tweets from Americans who want to flee to Canada to avoid Obama care isnt helping.
Anyway, whatever your reason, you really are welcome to visit. Summer is pretty nice here. Hurry though, there’s only about a week left of it.
While I would certainly welcome as friends any American who wanted to move here to avoid the heinous scourge of affordable healthcare, might I suggest you learn a little bit about us before you pack up the winnabago, strap granny to the roof, and make a run for our borders?
Really, we would be happy to have you, but I don’t think you nice people have entirely thought this through.
I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have.
Otherwise, you have a real nice day now.
